這些特點使得銅管在寒冷地區的應用很具優勢。嚴寒地區早晚溫差大，普通管材的線形膨脹系數大且強度低，很易產生因熱脹冷縮產生的應力疲勞破裂。有的號稱-20度不脆，但其實不能承受工作壓力，並且使用壽命很短，不具備實際意義，雖然可以採用保溫措施，但在運輸、保管及安裝過程遭遇低溫是難以避免的，而銅管的性能在-183度與常溫時是相同的。
銅管衛生健康
銅管則沒有塑料管的各種改性劑、助劑、添加劑等化學成分。
生物學研究表明：供水中的大腸杆菌在銅管道內不能再繼續繁殖；99%以上的水中細菌在進入銅管道5個小時後被徹底殺滅。
銅管組織結構很其致密，具有不可滲透性。無論是油脂、細菌、病毒、氧氣和紫外線等有害物質都不能穿過它而污染水質。
此外，銅管不含化學添加成分，不會燃燒釋放有毒的氣體使人窒息。銅的再生利用有利於環境保護，是可持續發展的綠色建材。
